Pioneers in sustainability

Pioneers in sustainability introWe are delighted to announce ‘Pioneers in duurzaamheid’ (‘Pioneers in sustainability’), a publication about the challenges and opportunities on the road to a more sustainable world. In this special, initiated by EyeOn and Doing The Math, we speak with entrepreneurs and experts from various sectors. They share their perspectives from very different angles, but have one thing in common: they are all pioneers who use their expertise to develop and implement sustainable solutions, exploring innovative ideas and new techniques.

Dealing with uncertain times

Sustainability is a topic that concerns society as a whole. Governments, businesses, civil society organizations, and citizens all have a role to play. Climate goals in the EU for 2030 and 2050 are set, but how we get there is not yet clear. There are still plenty of complex challenges, both in the short and long term. Think, for example, of investment issues, possible impact on the business model, or the redesign of supply chains.

The challenges that come with sustainability are further amplified by the fact that there is a lot of uncertainty. In the past few years alone, we have been confronted with the COVID-19 crisis, the war in Ukraine, a new geopolitical dynamic, rising energy prices, an ongoing nitrogen crisis, and other developments at local and global levels.

A deeper understanding is required

As the puzzles become more complex, more analysis capacity, more insight, and more advanced planning systems are needed. And that is where EyeOn and Doing The Math come together. EyeOn specializes in improving the planning and forecasting of large multinational organizations in various sectors with the aim of achieving the greatest possible impact. Doing The Math helps organizations achieve their sustainability goals through data analysis and mathematical modeling. Their combined expertise provides the scenarios and models that can help organizations address the major sustainability challenges they face.

In the coming weeks we will post interviews with entrepreneurs and experts who have found positive approaches to tackling sustainability challenges. And if you can’t wait for it here you can download the complete publication in Dutch

We would like to thank everyone who has contributed to this magazine and wish you a pleasant read.
