Innovation and personal development

An employee story by Lisan van de Gevel

After obtaining my master’s degree, I was looking for a job. When I got in contact with EyeOn, it immediately felt like the perfect match. During my study of Operations Management and Logistics at the TU in Eindhoven, my interests in optimizing supply chain related processes developed. This is of course one of EyeOn’s expertises. I’m part of the Planning Services team, which delivers recurring forecasting, inventory, and end-to-end insights solutions as a service.

Lisan van de GevelI started at EyeOn November 2022 and the transition from student life to everyday work has been great. One of the things that I immediately noticed when I started at EyeOn was the focus on development, not only personal development but also the development as a team. In the first month, we had the ‘innovation week’. This is a week during which you can work on any new innovative and out-of-the-box idea together with colleagues. At the end of the week, all new ideas are presented and some of them are selected to be worked out further.

But it does not stop there, I have also worked on my personal growth over the past months. This is done by creating your own ‘personal development plan’. In this plan you outline your ambitions and the necessary steps that you want to take to get there. This can be both hard and soft skill related. It is not always easy to lay out all the steps, but it definitely gives you some grip on getting where you want to go. One of my goals is for example to increase my knowledge about driver-based forecasting, which means using machine learning to forecast demand.

All in all, my start at EyeOn could not have been better! If you have any questions regarding my job as a consultant at EyeOn, feel free to reach out. And if you are already interested, check out our vacancies!
