The largest Dutch shipbuilding company wants to replace globally its current ERP application IFS and Infor’s BAAN to the SAP S4/ Hana application for their new-built vessel divisions. This includes the establishment of a global design and engineering network and the connection to the diverse global shipyards.
As the company is concurrently changing over to a new design and engineering platform, a new interface is to be defined and installed to integrate the new backbone systems.
The company requested EyeOn to manage the SAP S4/ Hana implementation project, for which a project team has been installed. This project team consisted of business members, IT members and solution provider member. Next to project management EyeOn provided the knowledge and expertise for the supply chain solutions and customer project planning.
The business process re-engineering delivered a global standard operating process template, addressing typical business issues as buyer-supplier deliveries, system and cost breakdown conversion into work breakdown structures and a global planning framework.
As SAP has been configured accordingly, a limited set of bespoke developments were needed to make the business blueprints effective.
