The Netherlands has been spoiled for a long time with a stable energy infrastructure and access to gas and electricity everywhere. Now, challenges exist as we must reduce our dependence on fossil fuels, have recently endured a pandemic, and face an ongoing war in Ukraine. Crises, by definition, create uncertainties. How does Stedin handle this transition? “We used to plan for 5 years. Today we plan 15 to sometimes even 25 years ahead.”, according to Danny Benima, CFO of Stedin, a regional Dutch grid operator.
