When all amateur sport events were cancelled due to Covid-19 regulations, senior supply chain consultant and sport enthusiast, Eelco Franckaert, set himself a personal challenge: Exercising 24 hours non-stop. He links this event to a good cause: raising money for research into thyroid cancer.
Two years ago his wife had undergone a surgery for metastatic thyroid cancer at UMC in Utrecht. After Eelco’s wife had been treated so well in Utrecht and a warm bond had developed with the doctors, the two always kept in mind that they wanted to give something back.
The endeavor was a success, Eelco raised 10 222 € for thyroid cancer research.
